Your cloud bill is hiding money.
CostShift finds and fixes cloud waste for startups on AWS, Azure and GCP. We use free tools, not FinOps platforms that cost lakhs a year.
- Production compute₹3,40,000Sized for a traffic spike that happened once
- Dev and test environments₹1,60,000Running 24/7, used about 50 hours a week
- Databases₹1,30,000Steady load paying full on-demand price
- Storage and snapshots₹1,10,000Old snapshots and unattached volumes
- Logs and data transfer₹1,00,000Hot storage nobody has opened in months
- Support and other₹1,60,000
The waste is almost always in the same five places.
None of it is exotic. It builds up because nobody owns the bill, and nobody has time to read it line by line.
- Environments that never sleep
- Dev and test systems run all night and all weekend, but your team uses them about 50 hours a week.
- Servers sized for one bad day
- Capacity bought for a traffic spike that came once, then stayed on the bill every month.
- Full price for steady workloads
- Always-on systems paying on-demand rates when Savings Plans or reservations would cost far less.
- Things nobody remembers creating
- Old snapshots, unattached disks and idle load balancers that keep billing.
- Data in expensive storage
- Logs and files in hot storage that nobody has opened in months.
How it works
You never need to buy a FinOps platform. We work from your billing export in Google Sheets and Power BI, and your data stays in your own cloud storage.
Free 30-minute review
We look at where your spend goes and tell you honestly whether an audit is worth it. If we can't see $10K a year in likely savings, we say so and the audit is free.
Audit in 10 days
With read-only billing access, we go through every line and send a ranked list of savings, with the effort and risk of each one.
Fix it and keep it fixed
We help your engineers make the changes, then stay on monthly to catch new waste, set up tagging and split costs by team.
What happens after the free review
No tool to buy and no price list to decode. Every fee is fixed and agreed in writing before any work starts.
We don't see enough savings
If we can't see about $10K a year in likely savings, we say so plainly, and the audit is free.
We see real savings
We send a fixed-fee proposal for the audit, backed by the guarantee: 10%+ in savings, or your audit is free.
You want us to keep going
We propose a monthly plan to fix the findings and catch new waste, sized to your cloud spend and your team.

Questions we get asked
How much does it cost?
It depends on how much you spend on cloud, so we quote after the free review. If we can't see about $10K a year in likely savings, the audit is free. Otherwise you get a fixed fee in writing before anything starts, and the 10%+ guarantee applies.
How does the guarantee work?
If your audit doesn't find savings of at least 10% of your annual cloud spend, we refund the audit fee in full.
It applies to teams spending $5,000 or more a month. We measure savings as annualised amounts we identify, compared with your average bill over the last three months. We need read-only billing access within seven days of starting.
Do you need access to our cloud accounts?
We need read-only access to billing data, or a billing export you send us. We don't need to touch production systems, and we make no changes to your accounts unless you ask us to.
Which clouds do you cover?
AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, including startups that use more than one.
Why do you use free tools?
Most startups don't need a FinOps platform that costs lakhs a year. Google Sheets, Power BI and your own cloud storage are enough to find savings, track them and report them to your CFO.
What happens in the free review?
It's a 30-minute video call. We look at where your spend goes, point out the likeliest sources of waste and tell you whether an audit makes sense. There is no obligation to buy anything.
Who is behind CostShift?
CostShift is an independent cloud FinOps practice for startups, run by people who work on multi-cloud cost every day. Write to us at hello@costshift.in for anything this page doesn't cover.
